longtime (or more recent and dedicated) readers will notice this blog started out with the intention of posting interesting photos on a regular basis--daily, if possible. somehow along the way it took a turn down a dark alley and turned into what it is now, where posts (usually) follow unpleasant occurrences.

so here are a few photos that wouldn't quite work in the usual morose way.

simplicity

the simplest things in life can make you smile: driving to a mountain lake, feeling the chilly wet air envelope you in the dark; smelling sickly sweet pungent pine; hearing the faint buzz of insects; realizing the band of light above is the Milky Way galaxy, blinding when you're in the middle of absolutely nowhere; walking though a patch of greenery, dotted with dew, sparkling as the sun comes up, long before anyone else is awake. the moment is yours alone. you savour it, and can make it through another day.

I really don't know what he found so fascinating from that perspective, certainly one that suits the 28mm (0.8x adapter hooked onto the the lens) view. Plus he's shooting straight into the sun...asking for trouble.
